CREATE YOUR OWN DESTINY.
What makes someone unstoppable?
It’s that clear belief in yourself, that unapologetic confidence when you walk in a room.
But how do you cultivate that inner fortitude? The world will try to distract you, knock you off your game, have you give up your authority. You’ve got to really know who you are and stand ten toes down. Being “On Brand” isn’t surface level—it’s so much more. It’s discovering who the F you are and aligning your purpose with Spirit. Because it’s not just about what you see for you, but what God sees for you. And trust me, God’s plan is way greater than your own.
In my wildest dreams, I could never have guessed what my life would become. I’m very much a work in progress but the ancestral healing I’ve done for my lineage, the life I’ve created for myself, the experiences I’ve had, the people I’ve met, and the life-changing opportunities I’ve received have been more than I could’ve imagined.
But it hasn’t been easy.
There have been many, many challenging moments.
I’ve navigated depression and anxiety. I’ve been brokenhearted and burned through a host of insecurities. Feeling grounded, secure, and steady in myself is a daily practice. But it gets easier.
And here’s what I’ve learned along the way.
#1 Know who you are – Easier said than done but like Ralph Waldo Emerson says, “to be yourself in a world that’s constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” So many women in my maternal line and in many cultures don’t have the opportunity to know themselves before they become mothers. After their children grow up and leave the nest they ask themselves, who am I? That question never ends but invest in coaching, programs, and experiences that help you learn who you truly are.
#2 Align yourself with the Divine – Spirit is always with us whether we believe it or not. For me, spirituality is not a nice-to-have, it’s a necessity. I’m in prayer daily, it helps me stay grounded and connected to something greater than myself. And once you learn how to be still, listen and follow what you hear…you’ll be unstoppable.
#3 Invest in meaningful relationships – Find your people. Invest in them. Open your heart to knowing them deeply, allowing them to see you even when it’s vulnerable. As humans, we literally can’t survive without each other. Build your “team” your “wise counsel” your “squad” and give.
#4 Why show up if you ain’t showin out? – A very fashionable elder told me this once. And while it applies to fashion, it also applies to life. Sure we can’t be 100% all the time but when Spirit calls you, when your people call you, SHOW UP. As Maya Angelou once said, “People will forget what you said, they’ll forget what you did, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel.”
#5 Nurture your creativity – Your creativity is a garden, that if left unattended, will dry out. Your creativity is your life force and it requires daily hydration. Even 5 minutes of drawing, listening to music or movement can brighten your mood. I truly believe we as humans are here to create. So let’s do it!
#6 Fine is something you see, but beauty is something you feel – Someone dear to my heart said this to me recently. He said a lot of women are fine…but beauty is something you feel. It’s something of the soul. Give the ego a rest, let your soul radiate and shine.
#7 “If not this, even better” – June McKae is a soul friend that shared these wise words with me. It’s easy to get attached to an outcome but trust that if it’s not this, then something even better is coming your way. Or as my Balinese palm reader once said, “above every sky is another sky.”
#8 My posture is peace. Peace is my posture. – This came to me recently and has been a new mantra. Often my strategy has been to try to do a million things so that I can feel “at peace” vs being in a state of peace and allowing everything to flow from there. It’s a work in progress but damn does it feel good.
Here’s to being UNSTOPPABLE.
And if you’re ready to build a brand that showcases the fullness of you, come through!
