I'm a third-generation Chinese American who grew up in Tucson, Arizona, in a family led by strong women on a generational quest for freedom. As one of the eldest of ten cousins, I became our ringleader—orchestrating games of house and fair, creating clubs, and launching imaginary businesses. This early leadership came naturally, watching my parents host and guide their families with the same spirit.

It became clear to me that living boldly and beautifully isn't just personal—it's ancestral. My matriarchal line has been breaking barriers for generations, and I carry that legacy forward in everything I create.

In Chinese astrology, I was born a Yin Earth Snake, symbolizing beauty, transformation, and intuition, with a Yang Fire Dragon in my chart as well representing power, celebration, and "life as theater." Both spirits reside in the "House of Spirituality", which has become central to my being and my work. I feel deeply connected to these archetypal energies—the Snake's transformative beauty and the Dragon's celebratory fire—and how they guide my path as a creator and leader.

In college, I studied abroad, and after graduation, I spent three months solo backpacking throughout Europe. Those formitive experiences revealed my connection to a larger global web and deepened my trust that the Universe truly had my back.

Returning home to Phoenix, Arizona, I felt called to create a life of real impact. As I interviewed for marketing positions, I found myself asking hiring teams about their social impact work, only to hear confused responses like, "social impact—you mean social media?" Those conversations confirmed I needed to forge a different path.

In 2015, I thought I was living the dream until a magical friend nicknamed "Genie" visited and asked, "This is a great life you've created, but is this really what you want? There's so much more awaiting you."

His words stuck with me. I realized that while my life looked perfect on paper, something essential was missing—a deep sense of aliveness. When another friend invited me to a wedding in Southeast Asia, I seized the opportunity. That month-long trip to Thailand and Vietnam changed everything.

From 2016 to 2019, I decided to go all in. I left my home and long-term relationship, reduced my remote job to 20%, and spent two and a half years working and traveling through thirteen countries across Southeast Asia and Central America.

During this journey, I joined DSIL Global, an incredible design thinking team developing social entrepreneurs and executive leaders. But my most life-changing move was living on the island of Koh Phangan, Thailand where I pursued what I call my "Ph.D.—Pure Heart Degree." Surrounded by fellow seekers on their spiritual paths, I dedicated myself to healing and transforming from the inside out, immersing fully in the culture and wisdom of these sacred places.

In 2019, alongside my passion projects, I joined Late Nite Art as Lead Facilitator and Experience Designer, creating unforgettable team experiences for companies like Adobe, LinkedIn, and Verizon Media. To date, we've led over 750 events across 18 countries worldwide.

From 2023 to 2025, I immersed myself in integrating my range of experience and discovering how I could bring my unique gifts to the world. Combining my keen eye for the arts with my background in transformational learning, I began guiding branding clients through deep archetypal exploration—work informed by my own inner journey.

When I took the Brand Archetype Quiz created by renowned brand strategist Jen Kem, I discovered my primary archetypal voice was "The Muse." During our strategy session, the concept for "You're the Muse, we're the Artists" came through like lightning—a perfect encapsulation of how I see my clients and my role in their evolution.

Today, my work lives at the intersection of creativity, spirituality, and impact. My process is as spiritual as it is practical, guided by the Divine and informed by years of inner work. My "Muses" are high-impact, high-vibe leaders ready to rise and make their mark on the world.

My ultimate desire is to create art with and through people. I see fashion, adornment, and creative expression as living art forms, and branding becomes the vehicle for unveiling each person's unique power. Through Creative Muse Studios, I'm building a boutique haven for creatives to grow and for thought leaders to shine.

Looking back, "little Lotus"—that ringleader with her cousins—would be amazed by this journey of becoming an Artist of Life, Soulpreneur, and Thought Leader. My sense of purpose guided by the Divine and my beloved community of leaders inspire me to live with beauty, power, and love.

I'm here to create, and I believe creativity is one of the most radical acts on earth. The becoming continues.

I dedicated myself to social entrepreneurship, working with organizations locally—from social impact incubators to creative coworking spaces. During my time at my first work love, CO+HOOTS coworking, my contributions 4x'd the space from 25 members to 125 in a year and we were named "Top 10 Coworking Spaces" nationally. Community has always been at the heart of my work; I thrived on guiding groups and being part of something greater than myself.

In 2014, I moved to my dream city, the San Francisco Bay Area, and joined Delivering Happiness (DH), the global culture consulting company and movement co-founded by former Zappos CEO, Tony Hsieh, and inspirational author and CEO of DH, Jenn Lim. At DH, I trained as an organizational consultant and executive coach, working with companies like Starbucks, Sallie Mae, and Giveness International (Japan) to create people-centered cultures and human connection at work.

As a child, my favorite thing was playing dress up. I loved digging through my mom's dress-up bin full of costumes and clothes, getting lost in my own world for hours as I transformed from one persona to the next. I remember loving the feeling of discovering different ways to express myself.

My aspirations as a kid were to become three things when I grew up: a fashion designer, a public speaker, and a businesswoman. It's wild to look back and see how much I've grown and how somehow things have come full circle.

From 2020 to 2022, I served as People & Culture Director for Common Future, a nonprofit at the forefront of racial and economic equity. When I was laid off after two years, I found myself considering traditional job options until my close friend and collaborator Mazin said, "Lotus, you are not getting another job. If anyone can make good money being themselves, it's you."

Around the same time, a psychic and intuitive business coach confirmed that I was ready to "make my own music." The universe was clearly speaking—so I went all in, committing to life as a Soulpreneur and discovering what it meant to build something entirely my own.

On International Women's Day, March 8, 2025,  Creative Muse Studios officially became the new name of this exciting business endeavor.

The name felt like destiny. After years of facilitating, guiding, and inspiring others to step into their fullest expression, I finally had language for what I'd been doing all along: helping visionary leaders discover and embody their own muse energy while serving as the creative director bringing their vision to life.
